Exhibition design is often used in commercial settings, like trade shows and expos. For this project, the task was to create a large scale exhibition showcasing a sustainable and eco-friendly company at a sustainable business trade show. Patagonia is a leader in using sustainable business practices, like integrating close-loop manufacturing thinking, and so their exhibition needed to show both their innovation and legacy. The preliminary research uncovered the products and practices that needed to be showcased to create an engaging experience for the visitor. From there, the spatial planning for the project began, with the story of the brand being told as the visitor walks through the space, from the brand's legacy, to its foundational sports and corresponding apparel, ending up at how the brand is moving forward into visionary sustainable business models.

The edited color and material palette is the background for this multi-sensory experience that allows guests to try products in a tent-like setting. The products and company partnerships are the center of the exhibition, creating an immersive experience for the visitor without any "hard sell", they feel as though they are being walked through an experience that is enriching and engaging. They leave the exhibition excited about not only Patagonia, but the lifestyle of sustainability and stewardship that the brand supports.
